All bookings must be confirmed in advance. A confirmed quote constitutes a binding agreement once accepted by the client. Payment is required before travel unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept card payments and bank transfers. Prices are quoted in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
3. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellation 48 hours or more before travel: full refund
- Cancellation within 48 hours of travel: 50% refund
- Same-day cancellation: no refund (100% charge applies)
4. Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for ensuring their pet has all required documentation for travel, including but not limited to: valid microchip, rabies vaccination certificate, Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for EU travel, and tapeworm treatment for dogs returning to the UK (administered 24–120 hours before entry). The client must provide accurate collection and delivery addresses.
5. Animal Welfare
All pets must be transported in an appropriate carrier or restraint as required by law. Cats, rabbits, and ferrets must be transported in a secure, well-ventilated carrier. Dogs must wear a collar and lead when outside the vehicle. We reserve the right to refuse transport if the animal's welfare is at risk.
6. Liability
Hythe Kent Taxis Ltd maintains £10,000,000 Public Liability insurance. We are not liable for delays caused by border control, weather conditions, Channel Tunnel closures, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Our maximum liability for any claim shall not exceed the total price paid for the journey.
7. Subcontracting
In exceptional circumstances, we may use authorised subcontractor operators who meet our DEFRA compliance and insurance standards. The client will be notified in advance if subcontracting is necessary.
